Without a motivated team, starting with the cleaning staff, through the kitchen help to the caretaker, a successful medium-sized company like the Castel brewery in Mainz-Kastel would be inconceivable centrally between Mainz and Wiesbaden.
Every single employee contributes independently and energetically to the harmonious coexistence, good success and well-being of the house.

Michael Sonne

The direction of Michael Sonne.
He does not only regulate business matters, personnel management or operational planning. In order to be close to the action, he does not miss the opportunity to tap fresh Castel'er beer at the counter and to ensure motivated employees and satisfied guests with a good mood.

Chefcook

One of the longest-serving employees is our chef Wolfgang Kolb. He has been giving hearty dishes that unmistakable something for more than 20 years. In his daily forays into the markets in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, he is constantly being inspired and ensures varied good German cuisine here in Mainz-Kastel.

Service

Our service staff are an important element of the team. Some of them have been part of the Castel brewery restaurant for many years. They ensure smooth, confident, friendly and smiling even in the most stressful conditions. You lift trays full of plates and glasses through the crowd and always have an open ear for the wishes of our guests.

Brewmaster

Since August 2001, Friedrich Schulte, Dipl. Ing. Of beverage technology, has provided the Castel'er barley juice with consistently high quality with a lot of dedication and craftsmanship. Since January 2018, master brewer Schulte has been managing the -Casteler Biermanufactur- brewery on his own. The father of the family comes from the Taunus region and is passionate about brewing beer in our house.
